Michael Pont’s background
Michael’s path into legal practice was shaped by more than 30 years of experience across criminal investigations, corporate management, consulting and forensic accounting in both government and private sectors.
During his 15 years with the NSW Police Force, he developed a strong interest in fraud and investigations, including 10 years as a senior detective specialising in fraud matters and 2 years at the Fraud Squad.
Before establishing Eastview Legal, Michael was appointed Managing Director of a US-based risk management consultancy responsible for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, working with major corporate and insurer clients on due diligence, forensic accounting, corporate investigations, security consulting and crisis management.
Commercial and international experience
Beyond policing and legal practice, Michael has worked across a range of industries including real estate, mining, forestry, ports and insurance. His professional experience has extended across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
He has also worked with NIB Health Funds in fraud investigation and risk-related roles, and with the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) as a risk manager, auditor and fraud investigator.
